Orbi Router Blue Light

How to Fix Orbi Router Blue Light?

The blue light on Orbi is not unique, as most people experience this problem. Most customers report that they have grown accustomed to seeing the Orbi blue light turn off after a few minutes. Finding troubles with your Orbi router does not imply that your product has manufacturing flaws or that the Orbi wifi system is not what you expected. It is natural for networking devices to suffer minor difficulties during their daily operations.

However, it is critical to understand what a Orbi router blue light actually implies. You’ve come to the right place if you’re seeing a blue light on your Orbi router that won’t turn off on its own.

What Does Blue Light on Orbi Router Mean?

When you notice Orbi blue light issues on your device, it does not mean that there is a significant problem with your device, because the network is functioning normally at the time. Most users are accustomed to seeing the Orbi satellite’s blue light.

However, these customers indicate that the blue light on Orbi appears for a short amount of time before disappearing. If the Orbi router blue light becomes stuck and refuses to turn off, it indicates that something is wrong with the network.

Eliminating Orbi Blue Light Issue

This part of the post will take you through the tips to get out of the trouble. Kindly follow these steps carefully in order to get your Orbi WiFi network back to life:

1. Check the Cable Connections

First of all, you must check the cable connections to make sure there are no loose connections in the setup. The Orbi blue light issue may occur if the cables or wires are faulty or defective. If you find any cable or wire having signs of wear and tear, please replace it as soon as possible.

2. Restart the Satellite

This should be your second step whenever you see the Orbi satellite blue light issue. Simply turn off and leave the Orbi satellite off for at least 5 minutes. Then, turn on the Orbi satellite. In most circumstances, the blue light on Orbi vanishes. If it does not go off, proceed to the next step.

3. Restart Your Router

If the previous step did not resolve the Orbi router blue light issue, we propose restarting the complete Orbi network. To begin, switch Off your modem and unplug it from the power outlet. Secondly, switch Off your Orbi router and unplug it from the power source. After that, turn off all Orbi satellites and wait around 10 minutes. Now comes the power. Check whether the blue light on Orbi satellite has gone out on all devices. If not, proceed to the next step.

4. Move Closer the Devices

If you still come across the Orbi blue light problem, make sure you move your devices a little closer to each other. If you can’t move your camera, please relocate your router and bring it a little closer to the camera.

Make sure the router is kept at least 3 feet above the ground level in order to reduce obstruction.

5. Re-Sync Router and Satellite

  • Turn Off and then on your Orbi satellite.
  • The Orbi satellite’s ring light should then change to white or magenta.
  • After that, push the SYNC button on your Orbi router, followed by the SYNC button on the satellite.
  • Please wait for the sync procedure to finish.
  • The satellite will blink solid blue at this period and should vanish after a few minutes.

6. Upgrade the Orbi Firmware

  • Use orbilogin.net or the Orbi app to access your Orbi router.
  • Navigate to the Advanced tab and then to Administration.
  • After that, select Firmware Update and Online Update.
  • If the most recent version is available, it will be displayed on the screen.
  • Wait for your router to begin the Orbi firmware upgrade process before clicking Upgrade.

7. Reset the Router and Satellites

If you still come across a blue light on Orbi router, please reset your Orbi WiFi system. Press and hold the reset button on your device. Wait for a few seconds and let your device restore the factory default settings. After that, the Orbi router will be reset to the factory default settings.
